How I use Claude to run MyTuscanDays
MyTuscanDays is a private experience platform for English-speaking tourists and expats in Tuscany. Personalised journeys, curated experiences, partner collaborations. It runs almost entirely on one person — me — with AI handling the volume.
Here’s what that actually looks like.
Guest communications
Every inquiry is different in its specifics but similar in its structure. Where are you coming from? What kind of experience do you want? How many people? Budget? Timeline?
I use Claude to draft initial responses that are specific, warm, and accurate — based on the actual details of the inquiry. I review and send. What used to take 20 minutes takes 4. The quality is higher because I’m editing, not writing from scratch while tired.
Pricing logic
MyTuscanDays runs on an internal quoting tool that calculates personalised journey and experience pricing in real time. The logic behind it is complex — seasonality, guest type, payment method, distance. The interface is simple. I open it, enter the details, get the quote.
Before this existed, I was doing these calculations manually in my head or on a notepad. Errors happened. Now they don’t.
Post-trip follow-ups
After every experience, guests receive a follow-up message. Warm, specific, with a review link. This is automated in content but personal in tone — because the template was written carefully, once, to sound like me.
The goal is not to remove the human touch. It’s to make the human touch consistent.
Why this matters if you run a travel brand
Every partner — a winery, a driver, a cooking class host — gets the same coordination logic: availability checks, confirmations, changes, follow-ups. When a U.S. travel brand asks whether I can plug into their guest pipeline without dropping quality, this is my answer: it’s already running, at scale, every day.
What I don’t automate
The actual experience. The conversation at the winery. The moment when something unexpected happens and I adapt. The judgment call about whether a guest needs more information or just reassurance.
AI handles the infrastructure. I handle the experience. That’s the right division of labor.
